THE STORY OF RESERVATION
THE RECENT HYPE BY MEDIA, ORGANIZATIONS LIKE YFE IS MISGUIDING THE YOUTH AND IS MADE TO BELIEVE THAT CASTE BASED RESERVATION IS GREATEST THREAT TO THEM.
They aren't made aware of actual reality about various quotas.
Instead of the thing that the BASIC PRICIPLE OF RESERVATION is objectionable. Youth seems to have believed that only CASTE BASED RESERVATION is objectionable. They aren't made aware of various aspects of reservation and even different forms of reservation. Even if they are aware, they are blinded by some people and media to make them realize that they are upper castes who aren't benefited by this kind of reservations instead reservation is against them.
They are presented mis-facts about reservation especially SC/ST reservation, packaged in the form of stories like grass hopper and ants.
Actually this way, castiest minds of the society are convincing the youth to follow their own caste lines and integrate them. While most youth anti reservationists raise their voices out of pure jealousy based on caste lines. While the modern youth still boasts about his higher caste pride, they can't take reservation for lower castes. May be because always their caste has been a matter a pride for them and now they are loosing something because of the same. Most anti-reservationists use Internet as medium to raise their voices. Actually you would find Anti-reservation protest most prominent in the virtual world than the real world. This is because most anti-reservationists are people who are enjoying such facilities, belonging to higher section of the society which consists of less than 1% of the population. You would find hundreds of communities on orkut about anti-reservation with thousands of members but you just find some 10 or 20 pro-reservation communities with very few members. The largest pro-reservation community on orkut [which has been the greatest integration medium for anti reservationists] has 120 members. Second one has 10 members and so on. This show the privileges of anti-reservationists. These privileged ones argue about topics like "caste system" and "casteism" in India.
LESS HYPED MANAGEMENT QUOTA [RICH QUOTA] IS WORST
Management quota is
1) Illegal [donations are illegal acc. to UGC , and for which they can be deaffiliated ].
2) It affects more people as private colleges comprise 70% of the total seats.
3) It divides rich and poor people [as u say reservations should be provided to poor, here it is reservation for the rich].
4) It compromises merit and SC/ST quota acc to u just satisfies last 2 points but its not illegal.
BUT STILL SOME PEOPLE PROTEST AGAINST SC/ST QUOTA [EVEN STUDENTS JUSTIFY DISCRIMINATION IN COLLEGES AGAINST SC/STs BECAUSE OF THEIR QUOTA], AND DO NOT RAISE THEIR VOICES AGAINST MANAGEMENT QUOTA. THEY SAY SC/ST DOCTORS ARE NOT CAPABLE OF TREATING PEOPLE AND DO NOT SAY SO FOR MANAGEMENT QUOTA GUYS, WHO BUY SEATS AND GET MBBS DEGREE FROM A PRIVATE COLLEGE RUNNING IN SUBSTANDARD CONDITIONS. THEY DO NOT SAY SO ABOUT DEFENCE GUYS, GOVT QUOTA GUYS , NRI QUOTA GUY'S. IF ACCORDING TO THEM, SC/STs DESERVE DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE OF THEIR QUOTA, WHY DON'T THEY TREAT MANAGEMENT, DEFENCE, GOVERNMENT, HANDICAPPED, AND NRI QUOTA GUYS THIS WAY.
MOST ANTI-RESERVATIONISTS MAY NOT KNOW THIS:
GOVT QUOTA AND NRI PEOPLE GET SEATS IN CENTRAL COLLEGES WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO APPEAR FOR THE ENTRANCE EXAMS. HANDICAPPED QUOTA MERIT LIST GOES LOWER THAN SC/ST QUOTA AND DEFENCE QUOTA MERIT IS SOMETIMES LOWER , AND MOST TIMES AROUND SC QUOTA.
THIS SHOWS THE HOLLOWNESS AND GREED OF ANTI-RESERVATIONISTS.
