SITUATION OF MIDDLE CLASS AND UPPER CLASS AMONG SC/STs

THESE ARE SOME IMPORTANT FACTS REGARDING THE ECONOMIC CONDITION OF SC/STs. IT EVEN SHOWS HOW MUCH STRENGTHENED IS MIDDLE AND UPPER CLASS AMONG SC/STs WHICH COMPRISE A THIRD OF THE POPULATION OF THE COUNTRY. INDIA IS SHINING FOR SURE BUT NOT FOR A THIRD OF ITS POPULATION. WITHOUT THEM INDIA WOULD NEVER ATTAIN ITS FULL LUSTER.
ALTHOUGH THESE FIGURES ARE A BIT OLDER [2005], BUT THE CONDITION HASN'T OVERTURNED EVEN NOW AND WE CAN STILL VISUALIZE THE SITUATION BUT ONY WITH OPEN EYES AND OPEN MIND.
THIS ALSO ACCOUNTS TO THE FACT THAT MIDDLE CLASS OF SC/STs CAN'T BE OVERLOOKED IN RESERVATION AS THEY ARE STILL FAR BEHIND FROM THEIR COUNTERPARTS.

* BSE, (Mumbai Stock Exchange) set up in 1875. 3500 companies traded every day, no Dalit

* CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), set up around 1895. 57,00 member organizations, and 80,000 individual members, no Dalit member till now.

* ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India), set up in 1920. one lakh individual company membership, no Dalit company member.

* FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry), set up in 1927. 1,500 corporate members, and over 500 chambers of commerce, no Dalit member in 1927, none in 2005.

* IIC (India International Centre), set up in 1962. With 4828 individual, and 296 corporate membership, no Dalit member in 1962, and none in 2005.
owned company traded in 1875, none in 2005.

Excuse me Mr.Youth Blogger.BSE Does not have any caste based reservation.Anyone owning a good company can be listed in the BSE.There is no way caste comes into picture here.Shame on you that you see caste everywhere. You search for Caste in each and every walk of Life and Politicians exploit this trait in you and get good returns instead. Please change your attitude from now on.

Mr Anand
I dont want to see castes actually
but this society especially the higher castes have forced the caste system to continue for more than thousands of years.
There is no reservation for poor either in the BSE or corporate sector but what we see is great inequality there too btwn poor and rich.
And our aim is to bring about equality.

As there is no equality in the society, economical spheres evident by numbers, how can you say that it is there?

My dear friend i respect your campaign for reservation in every sphere of life ever known to mankind. But, as a personal experience ( My father works in a govt. organization and i studied at a lot of good places) you can not reserve seats for every ST/SC alive on this planet, people like you must take some steps. I still remember one of my friends at my college who once was explaining his lineage as kshatriya while he belonged to SC quota, a lot of people from the reserved classes masquerade as belonging to unreserved/general quota. In my colony too i have met such people. You can not criticize others of not being very inclined to SC/ST when the people who are SC/ST do not want to be known as SC/ST , except for when they need reservation. The onus of uplifting the status of reserved categories and bringing about equality lies on them as much as it lies on the hard working general category ( as per your calculation reserved category out numbers others ). Please start by telling us that apart from bashing everything on the internet what else have you done to bring about equality in society. And we would definitely support you.
My second question is how many SC/ST have you known who actually deserved reservation ( i have known hundreds ) and tell you what other giants like nepotism, corruption, lack of education is paralyzing their lives and not the people belonging to unreserved class.
Anyways, every man needs a drive to stay alive and best of luck to you for following your drive. May there be a day in India when there is 100 % percent reservation ( this day has already come in UP there are few govt. medical colleges with 100% reservation ).
good luck brother

Lipi! Sorry to say but your views are totally biased. I don't say that reservation is d ultimate solution to bring about equality in the society, but reservation does uplift the oppressed ones if enacted in a good sound way with accountability of the process. The problem is with our system( blame our politicians' greed 4 vote bank). The people from reserved category who get 'uplifted' keep using reserved quota despite enjoying good social status & SC/ST from far flung villages don't even get to know about it. (my personal experience)It feels disgusting to see a Class fellow using quota despite being a son or daughter of bureaucrat/ Class A officers. I am a Medico & u wud be amazed to know that casteism is as much prevalent in so called educated modern youth as in d far flung areas of the country. I know hundreds of incidences where SC/ST candidates were discriminated despite being much better academically than many of their general counterparts. I think u have been personally hurt by some incidences. Please avoid personal prejudices while making any statement. And for Indiyouth, he has been doing damn good job by running this blog and creating awareness among the masses regarding current scenario. Lipi! u please mind ur own business and let others decide on their own. God bless u dear.
